My Tunes

Super fun kit by Simple Girl Scraps called My Tunes.  You can find it here at Scrapping Fairytales.
Trey likes to listen to the LDS Primary songs and most any kid songs (Wheels on the Bus, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, etc.) that has little kid voices.  Music helps he calm down, feel comfortable, or serves as a distraction.  But sometimes music doesn't help then we are all in trouble! :)

Beautiful Day

It truly was a Beautiful Day last Thursday when Paul, the kids and I went to Thanksgiving Point for the Tulip Festival.  An annual visit at this beautiful time of year.
I did this layout for a challenge at With Love Studio.  The kit is Love You Much by Simple Girl Scraps.
I hope everyone has a beautiful day!

Family Tree Art Project

We have been in our home for 7 years now, it seems longer to me than that.  I love our home.  When we first moved in and I started decorating I went with a tuscan/grape theme and colors for the kitchen and great room area.  The last few months I have started to change things over.  Red.  I really don't know why I decided on red but I'm perfectly happy with it.
I kind of take a while to do things so it is still a work in progress.  I have taken down much of the decorations that were above the cabinets.  I kept a few things and added a few red things.  I have a couple of spots bare but I haven't found something that speaks to me, or the time to go looking without kids in tow.
Several months I came across a post at Creative Carmella that I just loved.  It was a family art project that was fun, colorful, and would capture the family at that time in our lives.

Here is the link to the original post by Carmella family-art-project.  I bought a canvas at Hobby Lobby and used a coupon and also just bought a color of acrylic paints in the colors I didn't have.  The canvas sat in my craft room for two or three months.  I know, I know, just get it done right?!  The middle of March I finally broke down and got it done.
I masked the canvas so I could paint the red boarder, let it dry.  Then helped my family do their hand prints and let it dry.  I painted the trunks and grass on then after that dried I let them put finger prints of the different colors on their tree.  You can see that my middle boy started to do leaves down the trunk, oops!  No problem, no family is perfect so their art shouldn't be either.
I really love how it turned out and it makes me smile every time I walk into the room and see it!
So here it hangs above our fire place.  (Yep, my mantel needs help, it is in transition)
Oh, one more thing.  For the letters, I cut out letters on my cricut in red card stock, but the shade of red card stock did not match the red boarder.  So I used the letters to stencil the word then hand painted the letters with the same red paint as the boarder.

Spring Foal

Last Spring our neighbors had a new foal and the kids loved to see it grow.  We found out there is another foal on it's way in a couple of weeks!
Beautiful colors in this kit "Spring Has Sprung" by Simple Girl Scraps.  A different take on the spring colors but beautiful none the less.  It is nice to have a change.  You can see the kit here, Spring Has Sprung.

Blue and Gold

Trey has been in Cub Scouts for almost two years now.  He loves it!  He loves the activities, the friends, and of course the yummy treats he gets.  This layout has pictures of him at his first Blue and Gold dinner.
I had searched my stash of digi kits to find one that would work with these pictures.  Well, nothing seemed to fit and nothing I liked until Simple Girl Scraps came out with Spring Has Sprung kit, she also release a add on and it has Big Mats that go with this kit.  You can find it here. http://scrappingfairytales.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_60&products_id=843

Simply Spring Mini

My layout was done by using Simple Girl Scraps Simply Spring Mini Kit that was for the March collab at Scrap Delicious.
In a couple of weeks in when Thanksgiving Point has their annual "Tulip Festival".  We have gone every year now for 8 years, some times we miss the timing and the blooms aren't the best but other years we have gone at the right time and the flowers are amazing.  Spring is a wonderful time of year.
